Vernon Kay, Ant and Dec and Stephen Fry win at Variety Club Showbusiness Awards

TV presenters Vernon Kay, Sir Stephen Fry, and Ant McPartlin and Declan Donnelly are among the winners at the 2025 Variety Club Showbusiness Awards.

Kay was given the Silver Heart award for outstanding contribution to radio, while McPartlin and Donnelly were awarded the gong for outstanding contribution to television.

Sir Stephen was honoured for outstanding contribution to film and theatre, at the ceremony at the Londoner Hotel .

Singer Olly Murs won the Silver Heart award for outstanding contribution to music, ITV was honoured for outstanding contribution to British broadcasting, and The Last Leg presenter Adam Hills was given the gong for outstanding contribution to comedy.

Veteran singer Petula Clark was given the Silver Heart award for outstanding contribution to theatre and entertainment, and Vanessa Williams, the first black woman to be crowned Miss America, was given the award for outstanding global contribution to the arts and humanity.

Actress Lesley Joseph was given the Gold Heart Legacy Award for outstanding contribution to theatre and television, and actor Pip Burley was given the award for outstanding contribution to television and variety.

Coronation Street stars William Roache and Barbara Knox, who are the soap’s longest-serving cast members, were given the Gold Heart Legacy Award for their outstanding contribution to television.

Former Britain’s Got Talent winner Sydnie Christmas, who performed the national anthem at the event, was given the Silver Heart for outstanding new ITV talent.

England Lionesses and Arsenal footballer Leah Williamson was given the Silver Heart gong for outstanding contribution to football and sports, and England Red Roses rugby player Zoe Aldcroft and her team were given the award for outstanding contribution to rugby and sports.

Jamie Wilson, whose company produced Live Aid musical Just For One Day, was given the Silver Heart award for outstanding contribution to musical theatre, and entrepreneur and philanthropist Sir Lloyd Dorfman was given the international humanitarian award.

Reality TV star Mark Wright and TV presenter Katie Piper, who hosted the event, were also honoured with the outstanding contribution to entertainment and the Spirit of Variety Silver Heart award.

Julia Morley, chief executive of the Miss World Organisation, was given the Gold Heart Legacy Award for outstanding global vision and philanthropy.

The ceremony, which celebrates its 75th anniversary with the 2025 awards, received a letter from the King, who is the event’s patron, in which he sent “well wishes” for a “most memorable event”.

The awards are also a fundraising event, with proceeds going to Variety, a children’s charity which aims to change the lives of disabled and disadvantaged children in the UK.
