Rother Radio – Special Announcement Love Local, Love Music!

Tonight, over 80,000 LED bulbs lit up the sky above the world famous fashion, jewellery and art houses of Bond Street. The ornate light display is made sustainably from recyclable, long-life materials, with the LED bulbs facilitating an efficiency saving of 75%. This year, the lights will be on from 4pm-12am, in line with neighbouring Oxford Street.
Dee Corsi, CEO of New West End Company, commented: “Across the year, Bond Street attracts millions of visitors from the UK and abroad, thanks to its unique mix of shops, art galleries and exclusive experiences. But it’s safe to say that the street shines brighter during Christmastime. At the centre of this are our much-loved festive lights inspired by the crown jewels – an ode to the jewellery houses and heritage brands which are synonymous with the street.
“From iconic seasonal facades to special in-store activations, Bond Street businesses are going above and beyond this festive season. We are proud to be collaborating once again with Ralph Lauren to illuminate the brand’s iconic Giving Tree, in aid of the Royal Marsden Cancer Charity.”
Christmas officially kicked off on Bond Street on this evening with the switch-on event of the Christmas lights and the Ralph Lauren Giving Tree, with crowds entertained by a choir. This year, marks 12 years of partnership between Ralph Lauren Corporation and The Royal Marsden Cancer Charity, which supports the work of The Royal Marsden, a world-leading cancer centre.
Visitors to Ralph Lauren’s New Bond Street store will have the opportunity to make a donation to The Royal Marsden Cancer Charity and dedicate a personalized star ornament in honour of someone special that will be featured on The Ralph Lauren Giving Tree.
Visitors to Bond Street this season will discover the ultimate festive wonderland, from the magical festive store façades at Tiffany & Co., Louis Vuitton, Bvlgari, Christian Dior and IWC Schaffhausen to the Christmas trees at Claridge’s Hotel, The Connaught, Brown’s Hotel and Ralph Lauren. Dive into the boutiques and discover Christmas surprises from brands such as Diptyque, Penerai, Loewe and Charbonnel et Walker or indulge in festive feasts at The Biltmore, Il Gattopardo, Amazonico and Sketch.
Tonight was a festive night indeed for Mayfair, marking the switch-on events for Bond Street, Saville Row, Burlington Arcade and Piccadilly Arcade.
