TGI Friday’s opening Barnsley restaurant creating 60 new jobs

TGI Friday’s is opening in Barnsley town centre with lots of new jobs being created.

The new venture, set to be the 86th TGI Friday’s, will be launching at The Glass Works. It will be based near Superbowl UK and Cineworld.

The bar and restaurant will be able to accommodate around 200 guests with indoor and outdoor seating available.

The new attraction will create around 60 jobs, across full-time and part-time positions, for Barnsley and Yorkshire.

Robert B Cook, chief executive officer at the restaurant brand, said: “We are extremely excited to be bringing our best ever food and drinks menu, alongside that iconic Fridays service and spirit of generosity, to Barnsley town centre.

“We have always felt the love and loyalty from our Yorkshire fans and can’t wait to spread that Friday’s Feeling even further across the county.”

The restaurants will serve their diner food and selection of cocktails.

Councillor Steve Houghton, the Leader of Barnsley Council, said: “We’re thrilled to be able to announce that Fridays will open in the Glass Works. They are a hugely popular brand that will continue to grow our retail and leisure offer and provide people with even more reasons to come and enjoy our town centre.

The new restaurant is expected to open ahead of the summer.
