A man was left in hysterics when he found what he was thought was a lobster walking down the street in Sheffield.

The unsuspecting walker was left ‘lost for words’ after spotting the crustacean making its way down a city centre street last night, Monday.

In a video filmed during the unusual outing, the man said he believed the animal to be a lobster.

Shared on Instagram page, @imjusttsheff, the video shows the man say: “I am f****** lost for words.

“I’m just walking in the middle of the city, as you do. I look down, there’s a lobster.”

He then reaches down to gently tap the creature before jokingly asking: “Hey buddy. How are you doing? Are you a bit lost?”

Joining in with the fun, the video’s caption reads: “The man casually found a Lobster in the middle of the City Centre whilst on a stroll. who thinks he made a seafood fine dine meal with it?”

The video has prompted an equal mix of laughter and confusion online, in the hours since it was posted, with many eager to find out how the creature got there and what it is.

One commenter said: “That’s a crayfish mate – find them in most bodies of water.”

Another said they often see several similar creatures in Millhouses, near the river.

One person also joked the crustacean should be left alone to finish its shopping.

“Stop being so shellfish,” they added.
