Friends and relatives of Coley Byrne, a young man in his 20s, have spoken of their grief and devastation in the wake of his tragic death on Boxing Day.

The young man from Sheffield was stabbed to death on Sunday night, when violence flared at the Gypsy Queen pub in Beighton at around 10pm.

Despite the best efforts of paramedics to revive him, his injuries were too severe and he was sadly pronounced dead in hospital just a short while later.

The latest tragedy is the second to befall the family in recent years, after they also suffered heartbreak in August 2015 when Bradley Lester Byrne was killed in a collision in Beighton.

19 year old Bradley sustained fatal injuries in the crash on the A57, when the black Seat Leon he was driving collided with a white Renault van near to the junction with Rotherham Road.
