The Hairy Bikers were back on our screens once again on Monday night for a Northern Christmas Special.

After the success of The Hairy Bikers Go North in the autumn BBC producers sent biker duo Dave Myers and Si King back to Yorkshire for the special episode.

However the stars made a huge mistake while at their final location that viewers quickly picked up on

The Bikers were challenged to cook Christmas dinner for members of both of their families using produce sourced from independent businesses across the Pennine region.

These included four Yorkshire entrepreneurs whose output is ideal for festive favourites.

First up was a pig farm in the hills near Todmorden, run by Sarah Jane and Nataliya Clegg.

Then they went on to meet Oonagh Simms, whose Leeds-based business The Marshmallowist produces the UK’s only gourmet marshmallows and supplies top London department stores Harrods, Fortnum and Mason and Harvey Nichols.

After that was off to Sheffield to meet Alex Khoo, whose green-fingered hobby led to a business empire.

Everything seemed to be running smoothly until the TV chefs’ final Yorkshire destination which was the village of Tickhill near Doncaster.

Joe Dunning and Campbell Carruth run God’s Own Yorkshire Rum, one of the the few hand-distilled rum producers in the country.

They sell only 1,000 bottles a year and work from just one room with no other staff. The idea of making their own rum was dreamt up while they were in a beer garden.

How to get free TV streaming

Amazon Prime has thousands of original series, sport documentaries and films you can subscribe to watch here for just £7.99/ month plus a free month trial included.

Disney+ is here in the UK and if paid for an annual subscription can save viewers 15%, giving you access to Disney and Pixar films, and popular series such as The Mandalorian. New O2 customers, or existing customers who are upgrading their plan, can get up to 6 free months of Disney+.

Also, Apple TV offer a free trial for seven days but just remember that the subscription will renew automatically at £4.99/a month, so don’t forget to cancel if you don’t want it anymore.

Netflix is available on your smartphone, tablet, smart TV, laptop or streaming device, all for one fixed monthly fee. Plans range from £5.99 to £13.99 a month. No extra costs, no contracts.

Throughout that section of the show Dave and Si King accidentally told viewers that Tickhill was in Sheffield when it’s actually in Doncaster.

The pair made the mistake multiple times which didn’t go down well with viewers and as expected they went straight to social media to correct the duo.

@White__Dove Tweeted:: “@HairyBikers excuse me Dave but that rum from Tickhill isn’t Sheffield but Doncaster. Thanks.”

While @coadyxxx wrote: “Tickhill is Doncaster boys, not Sheffield.” @AndyParrott1 commented: “Tickhill is near Doncaster, not Sheffield.”

@keithjames0925 questioned: “What a shame you credited Sheffield with being the home of God’s Own Yorkshire Rum when in fact it’s Tickhill in Doncaster. Wonder why. @HairyBikers.”

@Matt_Lester said: “Watching @HairyBikers go north for Christmas. They’ve gone to Tickhill in Doncaster for rum. They keep saying Tickhill in Sheffield, when it’s sunny Donny.”

And @Shaggers999 added: “Come on lads, you’ve said Tickhill is Sheffield three times – it’s Doncaster! #hairybikers.”
