Tragedy as boy dies on railway line in Doncaster

Police have confirmed that a person was tragically killed on a railway line in Doncaster.

Emergency service crews including British Transport Police and Yorkshire Ambulance Service were called at 6.13pm yesterday, November 24, to the line at Moorends.

Tragically the victim was pronounced dead at the scene, despite the best efforts of emergency crews.

It is understood that the casualty was a young boy.

A spokesman for British Transport Police said: ““Officers were called to the line in Moorends at 6.13pm yesterday following reports of a casualty on the tracks.

“Paramedics also attended, however sadly a male was pronounced dead at the scene.”

“This incident is not being treated as suspicious and a file will be prepared for the coroner.”
