Strictly fans cannot stop gushing over Dan Walker’s “wholesome” friendship with Tony Foulds.

The BBC breakfast presenter first met Mr Foulds at the Mi Amigo memorial in Endcliffe Park which is diligently looked after by Mr Foulds.

Since then, their friendship has blossomed and the 44-year-old, who is currently a contestant on Strictly, regularly shares sweet “Tony updates” with his fans on social media.

In his latest post, Mr Walker revealed that the pensioner calls him every Sunday during the results show.

“Lovely to see Tony this morning on our dog walk in Endcliffe Park,” wrote Mr Walker on Instagram.

“He’s watching Strictly for the first time and is even working on his ballroom hold. What do you think Nadiya Bychkova?

“He calls me every Sunday during the results show to say ‘well done lad… see you next week… bye’.”

This is not the first time Mr Foulds contacted Mr Walker to tell him how proud he was.

Following a Strictly episode in September, he left Mr Walker a voicemail saying : “Congratulations kid! You did absolutely fantastic – It was lovely. Keep it up, see you when you get back tera.”

Fans are now calling on producers to give the “wonderful and kind” man tickets for the show so he can watch Mr Walker live.
