Several people injured in knife attack on German train

Several people have been injured in a knife attack on a high-speed train in Germany, local media and police say.

The train was travelling between the Bavarian cities of Regensburg and Nuremberg at the time of the attack.

One person has been arrested, police said.

They added they had received a call about the attack around 9am local time this morning.

The train, which was one of Germany’s high-speed ICE trains, was traveling between the Bavarian cities of Regensburg and Nuremberg at the time of the attack.

The train was stopped and one man was arrested in connection with the attack at the train station in Seubersdorf

Police said multiple people were injured but were unable to provide a specific number.

There is not yet any more information about the attacker or a possible motive.

Bavarian state police are on the scene in Seubersdorf, local police confirmed.

A spokesperson for the German railway network confirmed that the station in Seubersdorf has been closed since approximately 9am and that train travel between Regensburg and Nuremberg has been suspended.
