Michael Vaughan will not appear as presenter on Radio 5 Live’s Tuffers and Vaughan Show on Monday amid racism allegations, the BBC has said.

In a statement the BBC said: “The show focuses on topical discussion around current cricketing matters and given his personal involvement, we need to ensure we maintain the impartiality of the programme. We remain in discussion with Michael and his team.”

Former England captain Michael Vaughan has “completely and categorically” denied allegations he was racist towards Azeem Rafiq and his other Asian Yorkshire team-mates over a decade ago – a claim contained in an official investigation into Yorkshire Cricket Club.
