Tributes have been paid to a “much loved” Yorkshire NHS worker after they tragically died after treatment for Covid-19.

Tracy Robinson died on October 6 after 20 years of working for the Doncaster and Bassetlaw Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust.

She has been described as a “stalwart” by her colleagues within the Trauma and Orthopaedic department, a place where she worked since October 2003.

A devastated spokesperson for DBTH shared the tragic news on Facebook.

They said: “Tracy was renowned for her compassion, going out of her way to support colleagues and to show kindness to others, helping out whenever required.

“A great storyteller with a fantastic sense of humour, Tracy had so many stories to tell and often left those who worked alongside her in hysterics as she recounted her tales and experiences – and it is these memories that those nearest and dearest to her are now sharing, and celebrating, despite their shared grief.”

During her period of ill health, Tracy was cared for at Doncaster Royal Infirmary.

DBTH has thanked colleagues who looked after her, and were present during her final moments.

The post added: “To Tracy’s husband, Ian, and son, Sam, we share our most heartfelt condolences.”

To mark their respects to Tracy, the trust will observe a one minute’s round of applause on all of their hospital sites at 1pm on Wednesday October 13.
