Live A1 traffic updates as Doncaster crash causes six miles of tailbacks

Emergency services are currently at the scene of a multi-vehicle crash on the A1 southbound near Doncaster.

Lane 1 has been closed as a result of the accident between J39 Barnsdale Bar and J38 Redhouse.

Motorists are advised to expect delays to their journey with approximately six miles of congestion.

A spokesperson for Highways England said: “A1 southbound between J39 Barnsdale Bar to J38 Redhouse Lane 1 closure in place due to multi-vehicle accident.

“Traffic officers on scene alongside South Yorkshire Police.

“Recovery operation in place but heavy congestion in the area. Please allow extra travel time.”

South Yorkshire Police have been approached for more information.
