There are plans for a candle-lit vigil to be held to mourn the loss of a woman and three children who were tragically killed in Killamarsh.

A murder investigation was launched yesterday (Sunday) after the bodies of four people were found at a house on Chandos Crescent in the village near Sheffield.

Jason Bennett, who is understood to be the father of two of the children killed, said that he was “lost and broken” at the news and described his son John and daughter Lacey as ‘angels’.

John and Lacey’s mum Terri and a third child were also among the four people who lost their lives at the property.

One man has been arrested in connection with the incident. Derbyshire Police have confirmed they are not looking for anyone else in connection with the deaths and have said it is an ‘isolated incident’.

Now the local community are planning to come together to mourn the loss of four members of their community.

People are being welcomed to attend the vigil at Baker Park, the children’s play area behind Chandos Crescent at 6.30pm today, Monday.

A message on a local Facebook page reads: “I have spoken to the police regarding a vigil, something a number of people have asked about.

“They are OK with it and at the moment Baker Park, the children’s play area behind Chandos Crescent, seems the best place.

“Access, at the moment, will need to be from the Bungalows or off Walford road walking a short distance along the old canal path and down into the park.
