Cyclist seriously injured after being hit by truck in Sheffield

A cyclist was rushed to hospital with serious injuries after being hit by a truck in Sheffield.

Emergency services were called shortly before 4.30pm today, September 20, to reports of a crash in Shalesmoor.

The cyclist was taken to hospital and officers sealed off the A61 Moorfields Westbound from the B6539 Corporation Street to Shepherd Street.

A spokesperson for South Yorkshire Police said: “Emergency services were called at around 4.23pm today (Monday, September 20) following reports of a collision on Shalesmoor, Sheffield.

“It is reported that a cyclist and a truck had been in collision. The cyclist was taken to hospital with serious injuries.”

The road was closed for around two hours while officers at the scene carried out their investigation.
