Tragedy as boy, 5, injured in horror hit and run crash in Sheffield

A five-year-old boy has been put in hospital after a horror hit and run crash in Sheffield.

Emergency services were called to the scene in City Road at around 8pm last night, Friday September 17, after reports of a two-car crash.

Images from the scene show both cars with completely crushed at the front with one backed onto the pavement with the force of the impact.

It is understood that the Vauxhall Zafira had a family of five inside at the time of the crash.

The occupants of a white Audi also involved in the smash where seen to runaway from the scene of the accident at the time.

The five-year-old boy, who was a passenger in the Zafira, was rushed to hospital.
