Moment fireball engulfs car set alight by arsonists in residential Sheffield street

This is the moment a car burst into flames as it was deliberately set on fire in a residential Sheffield Street.

South Yorkshire Fire and Rescue were called to the scene in Holgate Avenue, close to Deerlands Avenue, in the city at 10.05pm yesterday, Thursday.

A Kia car was found well alight with huge flames fully engulfing the it as it was parked at the side of the road.

Firefighters from Elm Lane Station were called in to battle the blaze and crews left the scene at 10.35pm.

It was found that the fire was started deliberately.

A spokesperson for South Yorkshire Fire and Rescue said: “A Kia car was deliberately set on fire at 10:05pm on Holgate Avenue, Sheffield.

“Firefighters from Elm Lane Station attended the incident. They left at 10:35pm.”
