Arctic Monkeys spark new album rumours after casual and unexpected announcement

It looks like a new album from Arctic Monkeys is on the way with details of the record being released in the most casual of ways.

Alex Turner’s band, arguably Sheffield’s most famous group, are reported to be working on their seventh album. It is understood Arctic Monkeys have been working on their new music at Butley Priory – which is based in Woodbridge, Suffolk.

The venue has revealed the news of the upcoming release with the band yet to officially confirm their new album. It is thought Arctic Monkeys were recording at the venue in June and July.

“We’ve had a band staying with us for the last month recording an album,” the post on the venue’s website said.

“Musicians love the acoustics in the Great Hall and Drawing Room, with their huge vaulted ceilings.

“Being serenaded while watering and weeding the garden, listening to the double bass, drums and piano wafting out of the open double doors, was pretty nice. Thank you, Arctic Monkeys.”

In 2018, the band released Tranquility Base Hotel and Casino with a tour supporting its release.
