Prince Harry is to release a memoir next year, which he says will be “accurate and wholly truthful”.

The book will be published by Penguin Random House, and the Duke of Sussex will be donating the proceeds to charity.

In a statement, the prince said: “I’m writing this not as the prince I was born but as the man I have become.

“I’ve worn many hats over the years, both literally and figuratively, and my hope is that in telling my story – the highs and lows, the mistakes, the lessons learned – I can help show that no matter where we come from, we have more in common than we think.

“I’m deeply grateful for the opportunity to share what I’ve learned over the course of my life so far and excited for people to read a firsthand account of my life that’s accurate and wholly truthful.”

The book has a “tentative” release date of late 2022.

It is due to be an “intimate and heartfelt memoir”, spanning the prince’s childhood, through his military service in Afghanistan and on to his new family life with wife Meghan and their children Archie and Lilibet.

More on Duchess Of Sussex

Prince Harry stood down as a senior royal in 2020, and has since signed deals with the likes of Netflix with his wife.

The Duchess of Sussex recently released a book inspired by Harry’s relationship with Archie.

Markus Dohle, chief executive officer of Penguin Random House, said: “All of us at Penguin Random House are thrilled to publish Prince Harry’s literary memoir and have him join the world-renowned leaders, icons, and change-makers we have been privileged to publish over the years.

“Prince Harry has harnessed his extraordinary life experience as a prince, a soldier, and a knowledgeable advocate for social issues, establishing himself as a global leader recognised for his courage and openness.

“It is for that reason we’re excited to publish his honest and moving story.”

Halsey is a first-time mother

Halsey has become a mum for the first time. The Bad at Love hitmaker and screenwriter Alev Aydin welcomed their first child, Ender Ridley Aydin, on 14 July, and Halsey shared the news with fans via Instagram on Monday. The singer, who adopted the pronouns "she" and "they" in March, posted one black-and-white photo of the tot snuggled against the star's chest in hospital, as Halsey looked lovingly at Aydin, […]
