Yorkshire set to be warmer than parts of Portugal this weekend

Parts of Yorkshire could be warmer than parts of Portugal this weekend as spring weather returns to the UK.

Temperatures in parts of the county could rise to as warm as 17°C on Sunday, according to The Weather Channel.

By comparison temperatures in the Portuguese city of Porto are not expected to exceed 15°C on the same day.

Spring-like temperatures are expected to return to Yorkshire following the bank holiday weekend’s washout and this week’s unseasonably cold temperatures.

But it won’t be cracking flags and nor will it be particularly dry.

Temperatures will shift from cool to moderately warm by Sunday but showers are forecast to continue.

The city will heat gently from 10°C tomorrow (Thursday) to 15°C on Sunday and Monday. Rain, from periodic showers to continual rain, is expected to continue through the weekend and into next week which will remain mild with top temperatures of around 13°C.


The town will gradually warm from 10°C tomorrow to as much as 16°C on Sunday. A mixture of light, scattered showers and heavier rain will continue into next week when temperatures will peak at around 13°C.


Temperatures in the city will rise gradually from 10°C tomorrow to as high as 17°C on Sunday. It’s expected to remain fairly wet with showers lasting well into next week when top temperatures will hover around 14°C.

North Yorkshire

Wet weather will continue through the week, weekend and next week across North Yorkshire although it will get gradually warmer with temperatures as high as 17°C on Sunday. Top temperatures will fall a couple of degrees next week.

South Yorkshire

The region will become gradually warmer rising to as high as 16°C on Sunday. The wet weather will persist with a mixture of scattered light showers and heavier rain. High temperatures will fall slightly to approximately 14°C next week.
