Girl, 16, rushed to hospital after fight at Sheffield park

A 16-year-old girl was rushed to hospital after a fight erupted at a Sheffield park.

South Yorkshire Police were called to Ecclesfield Park at around 7pm on Saturday, May 1 after reports of a fight between a group of girls.

It was reported to the force that a 16-year-old girl had been assaulted by a group of teenage girls the same age.

Police and ambulance attended the scene and the victim was taken to hospital to receive treatment for minor injuries.

A spokesperson for South Yorkshire Police said: “Police were called at around 7pm on Saturday 1 May to reports that a girl had been assaulted in Ecclesfield Park.

“Emergency services attended the scene and the victim was taken to hospital via ambulance to receive treatment for minor injuries.”

The force say that enquiries are ongoing.
