Biker seriously injured after crashing into lamppost in Doncaster

A biker has been taken to hospital with serious injuries after colliding with a lamppost in Doncaster.

The A18 Carr House Road in Belle Vue was closed for more than two hours following the crash earlier this morning.

South Yorkshire Police say they were called at around 7.15am to reports of a road traffic collision.

The 29-year-old man suffered serious injuries to his leg and was rushed to hospital by ambulance.

The road was closed while emergency services attended the scene, but was reopened at around 9.30am.

A spokesperson for South Yorkshire Police said: “Police were called at around 7.15am to reports of a road traffic collision in Carr House Road, Belle Vue.

“It is reported that a motorbike was in collision with a lamppost. The rider, a 29-year-old man suffered serious injuries to his leg in the collision. He was taken to hospital via ambulance.”
