Tragedy as woman ‘on fire’ dies in front of visitors at park

A woman has died after being found “on fire” in a Sheffield park.

South Yorkshire Police have confirmed that emergency services were called to High Hazels Park in the Darnall area of Sheffield, yesterday afternoon.

They said that they were called following reports of “concern for a woman” who was sadly pronounced dead at the scene.

Though police have not confirmed how the woman died, witnesses have reported seeing her “on fire” in the park and a cordon was in place while police conducted their investigation.

The Instagram account imjustsheff posted a video of the scene at High Hazels Park yesterday, the video showed crime scene investigators next to the cordon.

South Yorkshire Police said: “Emergency services were called at around 3.45pm yesterday (Sunday, 25 April) following reports of concern for a woman in High Hazels Park, Sheffield.

“Sadly, the woman was pronounced dead at the scene.

“The area was cordoned off while enquiries were conducted. The death is not being treated as suspicious.”
