Police have confirmed that the cause of a huge house blaze in Doncaster was due to a cannabis farm.

Firefighters were called to Balby Road in the town at 2.30pm on Tuesday after reports of a fire in a roof and bathroom of a terraced house.

The major route in and out of Doncaster had to be closed while three fire crews battled the flames.

The road did not re-open until late on Wednesday afternoon as Doncaster Council had to secure the building and put up scaffolding.
