A shop worker in Doncaster chased a man out of his shop with a golf club after he tried to grab cash from the till while he was being served.

The employee was working at Top Shop Off Licence in Cantley on Sunday, April 18, when the shock attack took place.

CCTV footage shows a man enter the shop just after 4pm and pretend to buy a drink, however, when the till is opened he makes a grab for the cash inside.

He can be seen struggling with the worker to grab the cash inside the till with parts of the counter being knocked off onto the floor.

It is then that the employee grabs a golf club from behind the counter and chases him out of the store.

South Yorkshire Police are investigating two other similar attacks at shops nearby in the space of 20 minutes on the same day.

The worker, who did not want to give his name, said: “It was unbelievable.

“I had just started my shift when it happened. It has never happened to my before.

“I’m not sure how I managed to react like that.
