Man slashed at with knife by teenager after breaking up fight

Police are investigating after a man was stabbed when he tried to help when a fight broke out between a group of teenagers in Doncaster.

South Yorkshire Police say they were called at 3.30pm on Monday, April 19, after reports of a disturbance at Sarrius Court in Cantley.

It was reported that a 36-year-old man had attempted to intervene in the row between a group on teenagers, believed to be aged 14 to 15, when he was stabbed by one of them.

The man was then attacked by other members of the group before they fled in the direction of Goodison Boulevard.

Police say the man suffered minor superficial wounds to his arm, face and abdomen. He was treated at the scene by paramedics.

South Yorkshire Police have launched an investigation and enquiries are ongoing to locate those responsible.

Anyone with information that might help officers is asked to call 101 quoting incident number 549 of April 19.
