Professional ballet dancer charged with raping man in London

A professional ballet dancer from Doncaster has been charged with raping a man in London.

Regan Wilson appeared at Sheffield Crown Court today (Thursday) charged with rape, sexual activity without consent, stalking and theft.

The 22-year-old, of Pasture Close, Doncaster, is alleged to have raped a man in London on January 2 and is also accused of sexual activity without consent the following day.

Mr Wilson has also been charged with stalking in relation to a number of social media messages.

He is also accused of stealing a set of keys.

According to Mr Wilson’s social media sites and professional profiles, he began dancing at the age of eight and pursued his career through college and a professional dance school. He graduated from the London Studio Centre in North Finchley with a degree in theatre dance and classical ballet.

Mr Wilson also studied for a diploma in contemporary dance and choreography at North Lindsey College in Scunthorpe between 2014 and 2016.

His profiles state that he is highly skilled in both ballet and contemporary dance.

Mr Wilson, who appeared via video link, was remanded in custody.

A provisional trial date at Sheffield Crown Court has been set for September 27, but the case could instead be tried at Wood Green Crown Court in London.
